 I don't mean to bore you guys with yet ANOTHER review of a Tom Ford quad but I wanted to share my thoughts on red toned shadows and warm shades in general .

 Like most people with dark eyes I have always been told to wear bronze and purple shadows to make them "pop". While I like the look of warm brown and  molten bronze on my eyes ; I hate the way purple looks on me . Not only do I find mid tone and light purples unflattering but I also  feel like they make my eyes look red and tired  . Now that doesn't mean that I don't like purple as a color but in my humble opnion , jewel tone purples look better on me  as opposed to mufe 92 .

Before you start questioning my sanity ... please let me explain why.... ...

In direct sunlight you will notice that your eye color is not one solid shade and  is in fact a melange of different colors .My eyes naturally have a warm chestnut shade to them and when you place heavily blue toned purples or pastel hues near them,  it immediately clashes and looks unnatural.

Go ahead ... you can question my sanity now ! LOL

But in all seriousness when you add rich jewel tones and warm red shades to an already warm chestnut background they  melt into one another and the warmth makes your eyes look more radiant ! (p.s. it is important to line your eyes with black or brown liner to eliminate the possibility of looking sick .)

Tom Ford Beauty Eye Color Quad in Burnished Amber .

Burnished Amber  IMO is the stand out product from his entire line because of the shade selection and texture . The quad comes with a yellow toned gold , a pink based red , a maroon and a warm bronze . The combination of these shades paired with a matte brown is electric on brown eyes ! In fact , this will probably liven up any eye color ! I wore this out to a dinner party and so many people  told me that eyes looked like they were sparkling :). The rich shades looked exceptional with a bronzed cheek and a soft translucent pink lip .

The Shadow texture is slightly harder than Guerlain or Dior but the pigmentation is excellent and the lasting power is on par with most high end lines . I have been wearing it mixed with Guerlain's Les Fauves quad and the two together make the ultimate sultry eye look.

Whether you agree with my opinion or not ...*crickets* ... I still think you should give this quad a chance ... no seriously ...Do it !!!!

I have been practically living at the gym this month and work is pretty much the bane of my existence atm. Which means by the time I get home all I want to do is take off my makeup and pass out . The hot weather , my work schedule and my innate laziness has forced me to streamline my morning makeup routine these days . Basically , I want to spend about 10 mins on my makeup in the morning and still look presentable by the end of my 12 hour day .

The By Terry Ombre Blackstar "Color-Fix" Cream Eyeshadows are what I reach for when I want my eyeshadow to stay put all day and provide the most delicate glow to my eyes . Not to mention  it takes less than a minute to swipe these across the lid and blend with my finger tips . The wear time is phenomenal too ! I was able to wear this on my lids for 9 hours without any primer with no signs of  fading or creasing .

What truly sets these apart from every other cream shadow in stick form is the effect on the eyes . The Ombre Blackstars are packed full of the fine shimmer particles with a frosty base . The Shimmer is so tightly packed that it stays put and doesnt end up all  over your face .Also ,  when the light hits the shadow  it looks like you have glossy lids !!!! Beautious !

Frozen Quartz is a delicate dusty pink packed full of champagne shimmer . I find it incredibly brightening on the lids and even though it has a pink hue , it doesn't make my eyes look tired or red .

Frozen Quartz immediately reminded me of the new Pink Spark Caviar stick from Laura Mercier . However ,PS is more baby pink while FS is more of a bridal light pink and the BT version is more shimmery while the LM one is more of a frost finish with a slight shimmer .


Bottom Line :

• If you love the look of glitter on the lids but the idea of it ending up all over you face discourages you .
• If you love the look of pink eyeshadow but always end up looking tired.
• If you are perpetually lazy or need a easy fool proof eye shadow .

I spotted this palette on one of my many late night visits to the Nordstorm website . I haven't read anything about this palette and it looked like such a good deal so I decided to give it a try . When I received my package and saw the palette , it immediately reminded me of the exclusive travel palettes Guerlain has for sale at Duty free stores .

The top consists of a light honey toned bronzer with a more caramel strip at the bottom . While the second compartment contains an eyeshadow quad . They quad consists of a translucent yellow gold with shimmer (acts more like a glitter top coat ) , mossy green with gold frost , a light grey taupe with a satin finish and a complex plum brown with a gold frost . 

I have been wearing this palette non stop for the past week . The subtle bronze along with these refined sultry shadows makes a perfect everyday look that can be worn day and night . The bronzer is on the sheer side so its nearly impossible to overdo it and the color is just perfcect for adding some color to the cheeks . I can see it working perfectly for lighter skin tones but it may be too light for medium to darker skin tones . Wear time was 5-6 hours .

The quad is an unusual mix of a cool taupe with warm greens and golds but together they make quite a beautiful eye look . I have wearing the taupe on the lid with the brown as a crease color and adding the gold as a inner corner highlight . The green makes an incredible pop of color on the lower lash line and adds a slight hint of color to the eye look . Wear time was 8-9 hours with primer . 

Overall , I can see my self taking this with me on overnight trips and using it on days when I am running late and I need a quick yet foolproof look . The shadows are of lovely quality and the bronzer is sheer perfection .

The Set contains 

- 0.14 oz Shimmer Bloc in Pink Mosaic ( deluxe size ) 
- 0.15 oz Lip Glacè in Gossamer (full size )

Pink mosaic colors mixed , Pink mosaic indivisual colors , Lip glace in Gossamer ,  pink  spark  caviar stick  and  radiance primer blended out . 

Lip Glacè in Gossamer is a juicy baby pink with micro shimmer . The gloss has  a decent amount of pigmentation and the shimmer adds the perfect amount of luminosity . I found it very comfortable to wear and my lips did not feel dehydrated or dry . Wear time was between 3-4 hours . 

Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Pink Spark is a long wearing light pink cream shadow with silver micro shimmer . I was able  wear it on my lids for 8 hours (without primer ) .  Pink Spark is incredibly brightening on the lids and looks very feminine and dainty as a wash of color . I do not recommend lining the water line with the caviar sticks because they have fine shimmer particles that may cause irritation . 

Foundation Primer in Radiance is a soft candlelight beige color that adds luminosity to the skin . I usually mix this in with my more matte foundation to create a more dewy look .  The primer doesn't increase the wear of my foundation and acts more as a liquid luminizer IMO . 

Shimmer Bloc in Pink Mosaic is meant to add a healthy glow to the skin and highlight the skin . I personally feel like its way too pink to be used as a highlighter on my skintone . I have been using  the individual shades on the eyes as eye shadow  or all the colors mixed as a blush and it performs beautifully as both . On my eyes it lasted all day with a primer and as a blush it lasted 4-5 hours . 

Overall , The set is a great way to try a few of Laura Mercier's top products . I was personally attracted to the soft pink shades and I think all four items act together to create a gorgeous girly look . The Lip Glace and the Caviar stick are absolute must haves for me and I was happy to get to try the Shimmer bloc and radiance primer as well .

I know ..I know .. I know how difficult it is to find these online or in store but I wanted to show you guys a few other options and to encourage you to pick them up if you can find them lol . 

Tom Ford Creme color for eyes are mousse based cream eye shadows that are meant to give a soft wet look to the eyes . I  loved the shades released last year (especially platinum ! ) and was excited to see new shades for Summer 2013 .

Above is a comparison between this year's and last year's shades . This year the colors are much softer and more golden and the caps of the shadows have the TF imprint instead of a brand name sticker. I personally think platinum and pink haze are the more unique shades of the bunch .

Escapade is a beautiful metallic light peach and compared to other light golden shades you can see how the light peach base truly stands out .

Pink Haze is a glorious cherry blossom metallic pink and Flower beauty Geranium is the closest to it . Geranium does have a hint of  lavender to it but on the eye  it is barely perceptible . 

As far as wear time is concerned , they last 6- 7 hours on my lids . I loved pairing pink haze with LM rose gold eyeshadow ( beautious !) and black winged liner . Escapade on the other hand makes a stunning wash of color on the lid , perfect for  a hot summer day . It is important to use fingers with these and to build the color in layers to avoid patchy application . 

Overall , what sets these apart from most cream shadows is how the glisten and look foiled on the lids . I love the formulation but I wish they lasted longer on my oily eye lids . However , that can be easily remedied by wearing a shadow base or topping it off with a powder .

 Edward Bess recently launched the Blush Extraordinaires and they are in every way , Extrarordinary ! I have fallen head over heels in love with this formula and I pretty much ordered Secret Affair and Bed of Roses after wearing Filled with desire for a couple of days ( the sephora 15% sale was an added incentive :P). (Filled with Desire review )

Secret Affair is described as a soft peach and in the pan its a true tangerine with a gold sheen . When I say sheen people , I mean a soft focus angelic glow on the skin and not Studio 54 on your face *shivers* !  Normally , I walk away from frosty blushes but Edward Bess always manages to draw me in with beautiful product formulations . I mean in all seriousness there are countless peachy pink blushes to choose from but the Secret Affair still manages to stand out !

The powder is incredible finely milled and feels like velvet . I was able to pick up the right amount of product for one cheek in just one blush swipe and the powder melted into my skin to give the most beautiful flush . The sheen is barely preceptable on my cheek but adds subtle luminosity without giving me the dreaded disco ball effect . As far as lasting power is concerned , Secret Affair lasted a good 6 hours and faded evenly .

Overall , the formula is exquisite and the Secret Affair is quite possibly one of  the best tangerine pink blush on the market . 

I hope Mr. Bess releases a few more colors in this line .

I am alive ! Finals are finally over and its almost Summer time , which means I get to relax and be completely lazy for the next two months .
